ACCESSIT TO MEET ASIAN EXHIBITORS, PUSH ASIAN DIGITAL
CINEMA MARKET DEVELOPMENT
- Company to Confer With Leading
Exhibitors, Distributors in Region to Detail Digital
Product and Service Capabilities -
Morristown, NJ, December
7, 2005 – Underscoring its capability for providing
digital cinema delivery and exhibition services on a
global scale, Access
Integrated Technologies, Inc. ("AccessIT")
(AMEX:AIX) said today David Gajda, the company’s
Senior Vice President International, and Chuck Goldwater,
President and Chief Operating Officer of Christie/AIX,
will launch major corporate development activities in
Asia, meeting with leading regional distributors and
exhibitors. The meetings will coincide with the annual
“CineAsia” convention and exposition being held in Beijing,
China from December 13th to December 15th.
The AccessIT
team will significantly advance discussions already
underway for creating a digital cinema deployment model
for Asia based on its current 4,000-screen plan now
being implemented in the United States. Mr. Gajda has
also been invited to participate in a blue-chip panel
discussion entitled, “A Focus on Digital” on December
15th, a highlight event at the “CineAsia,” the largest
and most important annual exhibitor gathering of its
type in Asia.
“Throughout Asia, exhibitors are
quickly embracing digital cinema. As the leader in developing
innovative technical solutions for both studios and
distributors in the U.S. for digital cinema, AccessIT
is committed to expanding its presence overseas,” commented
Mr. Gajda. “Our proven content distribution and management
capabilities brings to exhibitors in the region not
only solutions for international distribution, highlighted
by our International Theatrical Distribution System,
but real-world experience with exhibitors in the U.S.
who are now transitioning to digital cinema in our nationwide
deployments. We look forward to helping Asian distributors
tap into the global opportunities that digital can create.”
Gajda noted that AccessIT
has developed software solutions designed to meet the
unique needs of content owners and exhibitors anywhere
in the world, providing them with the tools and technology
to transition to digital cinema allowing them to simplify
workflows and cost effectively manage their businesses.
During the trip to Asia, the AccessIT management team
will demonstrate its newest products including its International
Theatrical Distribution System (iTDS) as well as others
specifically tailored to the needs of operators in the
region.
iTDS is an international distribution
management application, an expansion of the company’s
industry-standard TDS system used by four of the six
major Hollywood studios and over two dozen independent
distributors in the U.S. to manage all key operational
and financial elements of film distribution. It enables
users to streamline global movie releasing, incorporating
worldwide functionality within a singular codebase to
eliminate the costly burden of maintaining multiple
territory-specific programs. All of AccessIT’s products
have been designed to seamlessly integrate with its
digital content delivery services, creating a powerful
global distribution platform and AccessIT’s Theatre
Management software.
Chuck Goldwater, President
and Chief Operating Officer of Christie/AIX, AccessIT’s
subsidiary responsible for financing and managing its
digital cinema deployments in the United States added:
“Digital technology has the potential to eliminate the
barriers created by distance, cost and even language,
opening the doors to enormous new opportunities for
distributors and exhibitors alike. As we are demonstrating
in the U.S. with our 4,000-screen digital cinema deployment
plan, AccessIT hopes to serve as an enabler to the operators
of the 7,000+ screens in the Asia Pacific region, whose
owners are beginning to realize the potential of digital
cinema and who have not previously been able to capitalize
on the opportunity. Building upon extensive experience
and track record of success with digital cinema, we
are excited by this pioneering opportunity to create
deployment plans in Asia that will accelerate the adoption
of digital throughout this part of the world.”
