Job Description
One of the leading Entertainment Software Companies is looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our growing team. We are looking for a self starter, with interest and experience in the entertainment/software industry. Additionally we are looking for a team player who is willing to help when needed and has a “can-do” attitude to help achieve company and departmental goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage Company’s monthly closing process:

  • Ensure that the company’s accounting is in adherence with GAAP, and researches new accounting pronouncements as necessary.
  • Analyze general ledger expense accounts for trends/anomalies to look for opportunities to correct or reduce expenses and ensure proper reporting.
  • Work with Jr. Accountant to ensure all monthly journal entries and closing support schedules are completed accurately in a timely manner.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and other ad-hoc financial analysis as required on potential new contracts, projects, etc for upper level management.
  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries.
  • Support the annual and quarterly audits of financial statements by researching and submitting reports, records, and other data as necessary for timely audit completion.
  • Develop financial reports using Solomon, FRx, and excel as required.
  1. Prepare the company’s annual budget and prepare quarterly reforecasts for management

  2. Help develop the company policies and procedures necessary to comply with Sarbanes Oxley requirements

  3. Assist other divisions with their accounting needs as required, including creating journal entries, performing monthly closes, and ad hoc financial analysis.

  4. Review contracts and other documentation to determine appropriate accounting to ensure contract compliance.

  5. Communicate with all levels of operational and financial management on calculations, questions, and changes.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.S) in Business/Accounting from four-year college or university required; 3-4 years practical experience in the accounting field, preferably in public and industry; broad knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles; CPA is a plus.

Computer requirements :

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of Accounting Systems and Microsoft Excel Software; Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Internet Software; Ability to create complex Excel spreadsheets containing multiple imbedded mathematical calculations and formulas. Additionally, knowledge of Solomon and FRx forecaster is not required, but is recommended.

Must be able to express thoughts logically in written and verbal for a professional environment; must be able to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
