TESTIMONIAL
CIR IN PORTERVILLE, CA

"The speed at which this project was completed was amazing to me."

"My experience with the Olive Ave Rehab CIR project was outstanding. Working with PRS during project development was very beneficial.
Seeing Olive Ave recycled in one day and how the existing asphalt reacted was quite an experience. Edge milling began on Wednesday and the final overlay was completed the next Monday.
Normally projects of this size take several months. (This project took) one week. We did our normal public outreach and not one complaint came in during the construction. (We want to) keep heading down Olive Avenue with the same process." Nathan Delk, Construction Project Manager, City of Porterville Public Works Dept

FULL DEPTH RECLAMATION (FDR)

See how Westminster uses Full Depth Reclamation for 50% savings on road reconstruction.

The City Engineer of Westminster says Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) costs 50% less than removal and reconstruction, making it possible for the city to do more streets within the same tight budget.

FULL DEPTH RECLAMATION (FDR)

Full Depth Reclamation not only costs less. You get a road that is better than new.

FDR combines pulverization and soil stabilization technologies for a long-term, cost-effective, in-depth fix for severely distressed pavement. Underlying causes such as insufficient base strength or weak soils are addressed, so that you end up with a new road that’s better than the original.

FULL DEPTH RECLAMATION (FDR)

Cut costly and disruptive export
and import: from 40 trucks to 1.

Typical remove-and-replace for one lane-mile: export 20 truckloads of excavated AC and base, importing 20 loads of new material. Total: 40 truckloads. FDR: just one load of stabilizing agent. Plus, you might remove a couple of loads of excess material. That’s it.

Environmentally sound solutions for all phases of the pavement life curve.
Recycling. Reclamation. Preservation.

Soil Stabilization Ensure a longer life curve before you even start. Our Stabilization Solutions group will reengineer your existing soil in situ to reduce expansion and increase R-value, strength, workability and compaction. You’ll save now (on import-export) and later (costly surprises, damage from instability). Stabilization of in-place soil conserves resources, cuts pollution.

Fog and rejuvenating The earlier you start pavement preservation in your maintenance course, the longer the life expectancy. Preserve your investment while the pavement quality is still high (with an index of 90 or above). The PRS Pavement Coatings Company offers a range of fog and rejuvenating coatings, and an expert team to recommend and apply them.

RAP, REAS and
conventional slurries
Apply a slurry seal every 5 to 7 years to prevent oxidation, the primary cause of deterioration. Our experts will recommend and apply the best slurry for your road. We offer fast-drying conventional slurries; our 100% Reclaimed Aggregate slurry, offering green benefits without the extra cost; and our premixed REAS, rubberized with recycled tires.

Microsurfacing Is your pavement rutted and worn as a result of heavy traffic? No budget for major rehab? Our microsurfacing system, which includes specialized emulsions and application equipment, makes it possible to stack rocks to 2 or 3 times the thickness of a typical slurry. The result is a smooth surface and an extension of pavement life.

Chip seals and cape seals If the pavement condition has deteriorated and you can’t afford major rehabilitation, laying down a chip seal may be the solution. To eliminate any problems with loose rock, we often recommend a cape seal, which is a chip seal covered with a slurry.

Cold In-place Recycling (CIR) Rehabilitate and preserve an old road for about half the cost of mill and fill. Our specially designed recycling train does it all on the spot: milling of 2” to 4”, crushing the millings, blending with engineered emulsion, and depositing the renewed pavement on the roadway. It’s fast, environmentally sound and structurally superior.

Mill & Fill Our fleet of planers range from 1.5’ to 12’ wide, with a cutting depth of up to 18” in a single pass. We work closely with contractors to assure maximum production.

Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) When total roadway reconstruction seems to be the only option, consider FDR. This in-depth solution gives you a better-than-new road for 30% to 60% lower upfront cost than new construction. It’s faster and “greener” because we reuse existing pavement, pulverizing and blending it with stabilizing additives.
